Ghanaian musicians have risen through the levels of underground singers and have gained world acclaim with some receiving prestigious awards. However, every success story starts with determination and the zeal to keep doing the best to come out top and gain recognition.

Cortez, the fast-rising artist(rapper) known in real life as Samuel Effah, was born in Mankessim. His Community, discovered his talent at the age of five which they did their best possible to bring him up by guiding and grooming him. Samuel Effah, known in showbiz as Cortez who is not working with any management team, has over the years, participated in rap battles and singing competitions across the country.
Being hard working and very determined to break through the music industry despite the challenges, he has recorded many singles which features top artists both in Central and the other regions. The artiste who can best be described as versatile has some debut singles such as; Oy3 time, Sabs Nation, Rapperholic, Prayer and Rap Addicted. The rapper who hails from Sabs Nation hopes to be among the tall list of great musicians including award-winning rapper, Sarkodie in the near future.
